So it's been a little quiet on the blog, and for good reason... we're pregnant! I had limited posting so I wouldn't be tempted to spill the beans about our little bean. Here's a little peek at our sweet bebe from my first ultrasound on 5/15.
We told my mom on mother's day while out to dinner and Derek's parents on Saturday morning when Emerson came down for breakfast in a special shirt announcing his "promotion" to big bro! I'm pretty sure we all cried, so overjoyed!!
On Sunday surprised all of our friends and went public with our incredible news. We are overwhelmingly grateful for all the love we've received! We're OVER THE MOON excited and can't wait to welcome our second child on January 1, 2014. We had family photos taken by our favorite local photographer, Jilly Bean and she made a special slide show for us to send out to share our newest blessing. Head on over to check it out HERE <3
About a half hour before we were supposed to head out the door for photos I realized I had completely forgot to buy a chalkboard for Emerson's announcement picture (does pregnancy brain come earlier with baby 2? I think so!) so I improvised this sign by handwriting with a white paint pen on the black cardboard backing of this curvy frame I picked up from Hobby Lobby that I use in our entry for my favorite print from Emerson's newborn portraits. When Jill our photographer asked how I got a sign made so fast from Etsy, I knew I nailed it. Exactly what I was going for, got to love happy little accidents like that!
So far I have been feeling great. Two months in the only real
pregnancy symptom I have had has been some round ligament pain in my left hip joint. I was told by my doctor and a friend in the medical field that carrying lower will do that to a girl, so I'm not too worried about it for now. With Emerson I was so nauseous and had the worst morning sickness, so it's been totally different with this pregnancy thus far. Our next appointment in at 11 weeks and we're planning on finding out gender early this time around (Ideally with a blood sample from genetics testing, but we'll see!). We are so eager to know him or her a little better. Emerson is going to be an incredible big brother. We have been pointing to our tummy's and saying "baby". He doesn't quite "get it" yet, but all in good time. That's all to report for now! We'd appreciate any prayers you can send our way, looking forward to sharing our adventure as a family of four!
