The Start of Summer & A Special Thanks

Today's post is going to be a completely random catching up of the start of our summer. We have been pretty busy around here and it's been a lot of fun. Here is a glimpse into the crazy!

My dad came for a visit and we finished our planter bed in the backyard and re-stained the patio. While we were out getting supplies we couldn't resist picking up this little splash pool for Emerson. We finally got around to using it this month and it felt like the first official day of summer!

We've been going to the park more and more this month. Emerson is really loving the swings. I wish we had a swing set in our yard, but there really is just zero space for one. May be when we move?

We FINALLY found some bluebonnets. We ended up going to the same field we did last year, but it was pretty sparse this year in comparison. This Texas mama will get her annual bluebonnet pictures no matter what, so we just rolled with it!

Emerson recieved a Cozy Coupe from Granna (my mom) for his birthday and at first he really didn't know what to make of it. This month we've been using it to push him around the neighborhood and to the little park in our neighborhood and he has really come to love it. Every time we start around the block, Emerson puts one hand on the steering wheel and the other out the window "cruising". It's hilarious.

We had a pretty big milestone this month as well, Emerson got his first haircut!

I was a little emotional but he did so well. We ended up at Snip It's next to Whole Foods while in Sugar Land visiting family.

Derek's parents, sister Kara and her boyfriend Will joined us and it was pouring rain! We were all standing there soaked laughing and taking pictures. Such a fun memory.

Another fun moment from this month was our first Sugar Land Skeeters game. We had the privilege of attending courtesy of Butch Watterson Realty and we had the best time.

Nana (Derek's mom) came with and we enjoyed burgers and fries while Emerson tried his first ball park hot dog.

I sincerely love this ballpark. There is a full bar, a play place for kids of all ages, splash pad, swimming pool and private event space. It's really a great place for families. I can't wait to go back with our whole crew. Thank you again Butch Watterson Team for this special experience!
