I'm back with more of Emerson's first birthday celebration! The party was exactly what we wanted, plenty of friends and family enjoying yummy treats and loving on our sweet little bear! Here's how it all went down.
The morning of the party Taylor (Emerson's Godmother) and I decorated while our husbands ran last minute errands picking up the food and balloons. Of course I left my outfit to the last minute and ended up running out to buy something 30 minutes before the party and even made it back before guests arrived by some sort of miracle! It actually worked out, the grandparents and Derek got to dress Emerson and get him ready for his party while I was out, which I know was a special time for them. I love these "getting ready shots" Pink Owl Studios captured, there is so much love in these images.
After getting dressed it was time for some pictures of the birthday boy!
Emerson's outfit was Petit Ami from Best Dressed Child (they no longer have the exact romper, but this one is very similar), his shoes were Stride Rite (again, not online but these are very similar) and his hat and bib were by Dainty Couture. After getting some portraits of the birthday boy, then we took family pictures!
I had asked our photographer Brittney to come a half hour early to the party so she could shoot these family portraits and all of the party decor before the guests started arriving and I'm so glad we did. All of these family pictures are certainly frame worthy, hope the Grandparent's like framed photos for Mother's & Father's Day! Hehe. Then of course it was time to PAR-TAY!
Everyone was greeted with a big hug! I'm Southern y'all, I honestly can't help it!
How sweet is this smooch? Melissa {The Scoop on the Stulaks} and her daughter Maci are seriously stylish too, we need a shopping date soon!
There were SO many precious little girls, all in adorable outfits and
big bows... I about died over the cuteness of every single one of them!
Emerson however had his eye on one particular little lady, Jordan's {Party Of Three} daughter Miss Eve Charlotte. They chased each other, laughed, yelled and shared yogurt melts... I'm pretty sure they're in love and I'm already planning their "double E" wedding monogram, ha! Eve's daddy is a military man, so I'm sure Emerson will be properly interrogated prior to their first date. We wouldn't have it any other way!
Speaking of girls... how incredibly handsome and hunky does my husband look with a baby girl in his arms!? Even his best friend Will gives the "thumbs up"... that's all I'm going to say about that!
There were also some little gentlemen in attendance! Emerson's God-brother Parker, friends Donovan, Sebastian and Cade all celebrated with us as well. Each one with their own little personalities, all boy. Obviously I have an incredible affection for the little guys and was so happy to get to squeeze on these precious littles! We did some more socializing...
And I only cried once! Can you honestly blame me? I was feeling the love, my baby is ONE! Derek had a quick costume change (he got spit up on holding a baby) and then we headed to outside for the cake smash.
We all sang "Happy Birthday" and Derek had to help Emerson smash his cake, honestly I don't blame him... I wouldn't want to waste a perfectly yummy cake either!
In the end Emerson was pretty proud of his mess! We got him all cleaned up while everyone enjoyed the patio.
After Emerson was all freshened up, the mama's posed for a picture with our babies!
This picture brings the biggest smile to my face, can you believe we're all mommies to babies this close in age!? I love it! We had planned on presents after cake...
But our little bear didn't quite make it! Granna snuggles always seem to put him right to sleep. We began our goodbyes and the family hung around for a few more beers on the patio. Emerson's day was so awesome. Honestly we couldn't have had a better time. God-parents Craig & Taylor Connor, thank you so very much for opening your home to us for Emerson's special day! We love you beyond words and are lucky to call you family!
I know this was the longest post ever, bless your heart if your still reading! I just couldn't leave a single detail out, hope you enjoyed celebrating Emerson as much as we did!
Such great memories were captured...love it!
