A while ago I mentioned that I had signed up for a monthly subscription to MommiesFirst, a care package that caters to expecting mother's and babies up to their first year. Well, I got my first special delivery almost a month ago now and have been using all of the goodies they sent and am excited to finally share!
When I opened my package the first thing that impressed me was that all of the included items were full sized and not samples. Another was that while I was familiar with these brands, these were products I hadn't yet tried and was eager to do so! All of the items are pregnancy safe and were obviously thoughtfully chosen. I could tell immediately that I had made a good decision in joining Mommies First. Right away I tried the Dr. Sharp's alcohol and fluoride free mouthwash, initially it was different. There is no burning sensation that comes with traditional mouthwash (obviously, because there is no alcohol to cause a painful burn) but what you do get is sweet breath and a hygienic mouth while keeping you and baby safe. I've come to really appreciate and love my Dr. Sharp's!
I love Benefit (isn't their packaging the cutest?) and was so pumped to try Porefessional, a pore minimizer that smells like heaven! This stuff makes my skin feel silky smooth and I am loving the shrinking pore effect especially on my chin. I can also appreciate that Porefessional has an extremely sheer tint, so I can wear it with or without make up on top.
The next product in the box was also by Benefit. It's Potent! eye cream claims to brighten under eye circles and tighten up those bags. For a toddler mommy with another on the way, this cream was MUCH appreciated. I noticed a difference literally overnight with the tightening and over the past month of usage I can honestly say I don't have to use nearly as much under eye concealer as I did before.
The last two products I'd like to review are the Weleda cleansing milk and Weleda refining toner. First, I've never used a Weleda product for adults before, only their baby lotion and oil (side note: I love their baby calendula oil, it's perfect for newborn massages) so I knew I already liked the brand. I knew after reading the ingredients that I was going to love the cleanser and I do. It's really helped to calm down my pregnancy induced breakouts. I was however skeptical about the toner. Being that to me, toner = a stinging, harsh astringent. Well let me tell you, this is SO not the case with Weleda's toner. It's so gentle and very soothing to the skin. After I wash my face with the cleansing milk I soak a cotton ball in the toner and dab it all over my face and down onto my neck. It's smells fresh but not strong. I felt so confident in the soothing ability of this toner that after Emerson came home from the park with a mysterious bug bite and I had no first aid type items to use on hand, I applied this toner to the bite and he immediately stopped fussing and trying to scratch it. I continued putting it on the bite after his bath the next three nights and watched it slowly fade. Talk about one happy mama!
I can't wait to see what my next MommiesFirst special delivery will bring!
