Beach Bound

Fun news, Derek's parents snagged a condo in Rockport for a week at the end of July and were so sweet to invite us to join them for some fun in the sun! I am getting SO excited to have a relaxing vacation with our growing family and one of the many things I'm looking forward to is taking some family pictures on the beach.

I sought after some simple inspiration and stumbled upon this lovely shoot by Images Of Grace Photography. Of course we'll be DIY-ing our pictures, so they won't have near the quality and editing that these gorgeous images do but I did note a few items I will absolutely try to keep in mind for our beach photos. First being their comfortable and casual poses, and the second being the outfit coordination.

I managed to find this perfectly pretty PinkBlush Maternity Mint Green Tie Dye maxi dress for myself. I loved the soft dyed aqua hues and the price was an unbeatable $36.

For Derek I snagged a pair of white linen shorts from Old Navy for $17 and I'll have him wear a classic Ralph Lauren oxford that is a staple in his closet. This will have him coordinating, but not too matchy matchy.

Emerson's outfit is of course my favorite, I'm in love with the little mint green shorts. The shorts I picked up for $17 and the rolled sleeve linen shirt was $25, both from Baby Gap.

As for shoes, they would be beach pictures if we weren't barefoot right?

And for the in-laws, I was thinking of requesting each little crew wear a different shade of the ocean, so when we did the big group photo we'd achieve a subtle watercolor affect. For example our three Ring circus will be in mint green, my sister in law and her boyfriend could wear turquoise and Nana & Chief could wear pale blue. I love the idea of coordinating and not matching, but I'm sure regardless of what everyone's wearing, we're going to have an incredible time making memories on the Gulf Coast!
