Easter with Emerson

Hi Friends! I've recently become aware that this blog has become one big, sappy, tear jerking diary of a overly emotional recently turned toddler momma and I'd like to say, sorry. No wait, I'm not sorry! This is my outlet, my little space on the web to document my every emotion, whim or idea. To not spill on how I was feeling about my first child turning one would have been leaving out a huge part of our family's story, and I just couldn't do that. I know, I know. It's time to look forward to the incredible days of toddlerdom ahead of us. Honestly, I'm bursting with excitement about what is to come! Emerson continues to grow at lightening speed. I honestly think that Easter Sunday, two days after turning one we can officially say he is walking. He was doing so well walking at Nana & Chief's house, we decided to partake in our very first Easter egg hunt. It was so cute! Emerson put a couple of eggs in the basket before falling to his bottom and giving up, ha. I think we all enjoyed watching him more than he enjoyed collecting eggs, but there is always next year! Here's a quick look back on our Easter!

Our handsome mini in his Easter morning jammies! I can't even handle the cuteness happening here!!

The Easter bunny found us all the way in Sugar Land! Emerson's basket from us was filled with a Jellycat Bashful Lamb who wore a turquoise gingham bow tie I found in the Target dollar spot, a Ralph Lauren kelly green polo (from the RL outlet in Allen, TX), Ralph Lauren orange plaid swim trunks (also from the RL outlet), Saltwater sandals, Really Wooly Bedtime Prayers (we LOVE their "bible stories" book so I'm we'll love this book as well), Peeps, an Easter bunny rubber ducky (dollar store) and underneath were eggs that looked like sports balls filled with chocolates (also from the dollar store)! Emerson also received the cutest cowboy plate, sippy cup, cutlery and bib set from his Nana & Chief, a coonskin cap purchased at the Houston rodeo from his Auntie Kara and the most adorable Ralph Lauren ball cap from his Granna! Yes, he was incredibly spoiled this Easter and we wouldn't have it any other way ;)

Emerson had his Easter portraits taken about two weeks ago, the prints came just in time for Easter, I was so happy with how they came out. If you are anywhere near McKinney, Texas you would be foolish not to have your precious little ones photographed by the incredibly talented (and rated #1 children's photographer in McKinney two years in a row now!) Jill Thompson of Jilly Bean Photography. Just lovely!!

Our little family looked quite dapper for church I must say. My husband looked absolutely handsome in his pastel madras bow tie, while I was lovely in lace. Emerson wore the outfit from his Easter portraits for Sunday service. He looked so sweet, but slept for the whole thing including pictures. Once we got home we had a delicious lunch and then we were out to attempt our first egg hunt. We concluded our visit, packed up the car with an insane amount of birthday gifts and Easter goodies and headed back to Dallas. When we got home, we were greeted by a real life Easter bunny!! Couldn't resist snapping a quick shot of this sweet baby bunny in Emerson's Easter basket. I'd be lying if I said I didn't beg Derek to let me keep the bunny. I was met with a resounding "NO" haha! Hope you and your family had a beyond blessed Easter! He is Risen Indeed!!
