We've Been Boo'd!

So it's not even October yet. Halloween isn't happening for another month... I realize this, I do, but I honestly could not wait a second longer to do a little decorating for Emerson's first BOO!  Inspired by my Halloween DIY ideas, I got to work on a few of the projects yesterday. Here's a peek at what I've accomplished so far!

First, you're welcomed by our "Boo" door hanger, simple and sweet!

Next, a little alcove in the entry is the perfect place to house a hurricane filled with treats. I made the bow with left over materials from the other crafts.

Lastly the mantle in the living room got the Halloween treatment. I really had fun putting all of the elements for this look together. The tree branch candle sticks were purchased years ago at the Houston Urban Market and I never could find a home for them, so I spray painted them black and got some orange taper candles at Micheal's and they were ready to go!

The paper bats were pre-cut which made life extremely for me. Just some double sided tape on the back and then they were ready for arranging on the wall.

The tulle wreath was finished in about 10 minutes! The longest part of the process was cutting the strips of tulle. Tying them on was quick as was hot gluing the feathered crow on.

When I came across this Halloween subway art printable I knew it would be perfect for the mantle. Chevron is so popular this year and it really added a pop!

Finally what would Halloween be without some pumpkins? I glittered these $1 styrofoam pumpkins and added some ribbon for the final touch to my mantle decor.

Decorating has really got me in the mood to put some festive fall activities on our calendar. It's a reminder that the holidays are getting closer and I'm so looking forward to all of the holiday "firsts" with our sweet baby boy!
