Sweet Snapshots

Thanks to the convenience of cell phone cameras and instagram, it's beyond easy to take snapshots of all the daily happenings with our little family, so here are some sweet shots we snapped over the last week or two.

Baby E feeding himself breakfast in bed on a lazy morning. He has really become aware of where his food comes from lately. Tugging at Mommy's shirt or picking up his bottle, when Emerson's hungry he shows it!

We're trying new flavors, broccoli, pears & peas. Believe it or not we taste all of these before we serve them to Emerson and they really are not bad at all. I think it's because they are completely natural, so the quality is palatable.

This month's Citrus Lane box came with a neat art book that we have been using to introduce Emerson to colors. Now not to go all "baby Einstein" on you... but most of the art cards I use during playtime with Emerson are black and white to spark brain activity and vision development for newborns, but as he gets older the introduction of colors becomes more important for visual stimulation. Bright books like this are an easy and fun way to do that. Plus it's Warhol, so it couldn't be any cooler if it tried.

Daddy bought Baby E the Fisher Price Luv U Zoo Jumperoo from Target and so far it has been a HUGE hit around our house. I don't let Emerson sit too long in it (paranoid first time mom here) because he bounces so enthusiastically and he's so big, he get's pretty high up in the air and my heart skips a beat nearly every time, ha!!

Let's keep it real, we live in our pj's around these parts until about noon. Then we'll get dressed for errands or a walk. I figure why not be comfy for our morning snuggle sessions, right?

But I promise we do actually get dressed eventually! Proof: these sweet Osh Kosh outfits that came from a shopping trip with Granna this week. I love having my mom so close and I love it even more that she is a shopper. Like mother like daughter! Can't wait to get E in these fun fall outfits.

We are still loving the Aden & Anais sleep sack. Here is Emerson taking a mid morning nap last week. Cute as ever.

I made oven roasted chicken, veggies and smashed potatoes for dinner Saturday night. It was so good.

The longhorns won their game this Saturday too, it was a blow out but unfortunately we didn't get to watch since Time Warner doesn't carry the longhorn network... so lame!

Over the weekend Derek welcomed fall by bringing home the Sam Adams fall variety pack. We loved the Octoberfest and this Harvest Pumpkin Ale the best!

We took Emerson on his first fishing experience at the lake in our neighborhood (full post on that to come).

Sunday Emerson was looking pretty handsome in his monogrammed bubble. We have yet to put him in a Sunday school class where we drop him off before heading to the sanctuary. I just don't think I'm ready yet to leave him yet. May be in a few more months.

Well that's all for now! I kind of like the idea of posting these little weekly recaps and snapshots, I might just do it again. Would you be interested in seeing more of our daily happenings? Let me know in the comments!
