To be perfectly honest, I have never been much "into" Halloween so I have never spent the money decorating my home for it. It's not that I don't love a good costume party, it's just that I don't like anything that is super scary (I am a huge wimp!) and that tends to be a running theme with the holiday. This year that all changes as we get to enjoy the fun, BOO-less, family style Halloween with our sweet little pumpkin for the first time ever! So I thought I would share a few DIY projects I am planning to work on before the 31st that are pretty effortless, easy and inexpensive!
(From the left clockwise)
1. I'm planning on skipping the pumpkin carving mess and instead painting one with a monogrammed initial for our front porch. I like that it's low maintenance and I won't have to worry about leaving a candle in it by accident (this has happened... it didn't end well for the pumpkin).
2. Seriously how cute are those little pumpkin cheeks!? If Emerson cooperates I would LOVE to get some shots of him like this, I would treasure them always. So darn adorable!
3. Wooden letters, scrapbook paper and modge podge are all that is needed to whip up this little "Boo" sign for the front door.
4. A candy centerpiece will satisfy my sweet tooth without having to head door to door.
5. The hardest project I plan to tackle is a trio of throw pillows that read "trick or treat". I plan on having Nana Daphne whip these pillow covers up and I will stencil them. She is great at sewing projects so I am sure these will likely end up being my favorite of all the decorations!
I will post pictures soon of my progress and hopefully finished products! In the meantime, be sure to check back for my post on our Halloween plans for Baby E :)
