Month 4
Dear Emerson,
How another month has slipped through my fingers is unfathomable to me. You change and grow in minutes it seems. This month you thouroughly enjoyed being on your tummy and pushing up onto your hands and knees. You have yet to begin crawling, but we are in absolutley no hurry. In fact, I am pretty nervous about you becoming mobile. Being able to crawl means you're just that much closer to walking. Walking means that you're just that much closer to talking and then pre-school and then mommy's inevitable breakdown she'll have from the realization that your no longer a baby. I try and tell myself that we have so much time but I just know that isn't the case. So I hold you tight and I kiss your cheeks and smell your hair and try and soak in every second of you being this tiny. In addition to your attempts at crawling you have begun propping yourself up in efforts to sit up unsupported. You are so close to sitting on your own I have a feeling you will be doing so within days. You still love being read to and you like to talk to us in your own little way. Discovering your voice has been very fun for you. You scream enthusiastically when you make a new sound, you are so proud of yourself and we are in turn so proud of you too. The hair on your head has completely filled in which your Daddy is very happy about. He loves to "style" your hair when were giving you a bath. The mohawk seems to be the most popular with the comb over coming in at a close second. No matter how your hair looks however, you are beyond handsome. We still pinch ourselves... how did we get so lucky?
Love,
Momma
