Since being six months pregnant really wasn't conducive to an NYE all nighter at a downtown bar, Derek and I decided a dinner party at home was the perfect way to ring in the new year with our parents or shall I say "grandparents to be"!
It all started in the kitchen! The heart of our home where we prepped all of the food for our last dinner of 2011.
Then I set the table in silver, gold, black and celebratory balloons!
After admiring my handy work, it was all about the food!
We started with a cheese platter and some Cesar salad - yum!
Then we enjoyed chicken Parmesan and pasta.
And even though we were completely stuffed, everyone continued to drink and nibble throughout the evening. After watching some Christmas specials, we played a few rounds of domino's and then toasted to the new year. Happy 2012 everyone! With love - Derek, Sarah & Emerson!
